As attorney general of South Carolina, I started the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force in 1998.  The recent email below from the attorney general's office reminded me that 15 years has passed since the founding of ICAC!  As attorney general and now as a criminal defense lawyer, I have seen firsthand how the task force has grown into a major law enforcement presence in South Carolina.  Congratulations to attorney general Alan Wilson for the continued success of ICAC . Stay Safe Online Week This week, we are celebrating 15 successful years of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. The task force, housed in the Office of the Attorney General, has united resources at the state, county, and local level to combat online predators and to keep children safe. ICAC goes beyond the investigation, arrest, and prosecution of criminals, however, by focusing on community outreach to students and parents, and making presentations around the state to schools, families, guidance counselors, and churches. This  week, we honor the service of those dedicated to the safety of South Carolina by thanking them and raising awareness of online predators.
